6-3B Cube Roots

CCSS Standards- 8.EE.2, 8.NS.1 and 8.NS.2

Critical Background Knowledge- Students should know decimals and square roots.  

 

Content Objective: I can find decimal approximations of cube roots.  I can convert either repeating or terminating decimals into a fraction.  I can pale rational and irrational numbers on a number line.  I can solve equations of the form x^2\:=\:b\:and\:x^3=\:bx2=bandx3=busing square or cube roots.  

Language Objective: I can explain the difference between irrational and rational numbers and know the definition of cube roots. 

Essential Question: How can I explain the process I used to solve problems?

d. Homework -  Download Hm6-3B
