Turnitin (also known as Turnitin.com) is an Internet-based plagiarism-detection service created by iParadigms, LLC. Institutions, typically universities and high schools use Turnitin to grade essays which checks the document for plagiarism. The following tutorials were created for the University level but Turnitin works the same in our K-12 environment!

Q. How do I create a Turnitin-enabled assignment in Canvas?

A. Turnitin-enabled assignments are no different than regular Canvas assignments. If you have Turnitin correctly configured on your account and you create an assignment with a submission type of either "Online Upload" or "Online Text Entry" then you should see a checkbox for "Enable Turnitin Submission Evaluations". Checking this box will make the assignment a Turnitin-enabled assignment. Canvas tutorial 'How do I enable Turnitin for an Assignment?'
