Embedding a Kahoot Quiz in Canvas
You can embed a Kahoot quiz in a Canvas page. This can be helpful as you don't have to switch to another browser page or tab to run the Kahoot. It does take a little bit of set up, but is worth the effort. We all know how to create iFrames right? Right? No, well we will make that part easy as well.
The first thing you need to do is get the web address (URL) of the Kahoot quiz you want to embed. To find that address, go into Kahoot and select Kahoots from the top menu. This will show you all of your Kahoots. Select the Kahoot you want to embed on a Canvas page. Then you will see a page like this for that particular Kahoot.
Select Share and you will see a link that you can use. Copy that link.
Next, go to iFrame Generator - Free Online iFrame Code Maker Tool Links to an external site. Paste the Kahoot address in the iFrameURL space, change the Width to 1200px and the height to 800px then click Generate.
This will create the code you need for Canvas. Click the Copy It button to copy the code to your clipboard.
Now, go to your Canvas course and create a new page.
Open the page and select Edit. Then select HTML Editor
Finally, paste the. iFrame code into the page.
Click on Save and the Kahoot will appear on the page. You can then run the Kahoot directly from that page. You can even click on the Full Screen button for the Kahoot to go full screen.
