05.00 Basic Driving Skills - Handbook Chapter 5

This unit is designed to give you a basic understanding of basic driving skills. The handbook will outline basic driving skills and how you should react in each situation. You can download this section of the Driver License Handbook from the link above.
At completion of this unit the student:
- Will understand the do's and don’ts of freeway driving.
- Will understand laws pertaining to ramp metering.
- Will understand how to navigate high-occupancy vehicle lane.
- Will understand how to navigate single-point urban interchanges.
- Will understand how to drive safely at night, staying awake, and during emergency situations.
- Will understand the steps to navigate railroad crossings safely.
- Will understand how to navigate safely with motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
- Will understand laws pertaining to safety belts, safety seats, and air bags.
