For this assignment you will try using a password manager for one week for all of your school-related passwords.

You can add your personal passwords to the manager as well if you want to. Watch the following video if you need help using a password manager.

*Bitwarden is recommend because it's free, open-source, and full of features (bitwarden Links to an external site.).

1. Using the links provided on the previous page, get a password manager account.
2. Download the browser extension for the manager you chose:
   • bitwarden Links to an external site. - scroll down to "Desktop" and click on your browser
   • Dashlane Links to an external site. - automatically installs when you download Dashlane.
   • 1Password Links to an external site. - detects your browser and provides appropriate extension to install
   • LastPass Links to an external site. - check out the "Universal Installer", be sure to choose the correct operating system
3. Add your Canyons School District credentials (username & password).
4. Try it out.
5. upload a screenshot (on a Mac: command + shift + 3) of the browser extension showing your district credentials (password will be hidden with ******) Your submission will look something like this (I'm showing bitwarden's extension, since I use it):
   
   DO NOT SHARE YOUR PASSWORD WITH ME! As a district employee, I already know your district username (first.last).
6. In the comments for this assignments, please share your experience using a password manager.

ADVICE: Do not make a long complicated password for your computer login. When you reboot your computer, your password manager will not be available to you and it will be extremely difficult to put in a complicated password.

HINT: To take a screen shot on a Mac computer, type shift+command+4, then click and drag the target over the desired portion of your screen. To take a screen shot on a Windows computer, tap the PrtScn button.

HINT: You should have administrative rights on your teacher computer that allows you to download and install software. Try entering your District username and password if you are asked to do so. If it seems you still do not have access, please select a web-based tool for this assignment.
