Level 1 Educational Technology Certification
About this Course
The Level 1 Educational Technology Certification course is designed to help teachers in Canyons School District develop fundamental competency in District educational and learning technologies. Participants will gain an understanding of the ISTE Standards for Educators and develop skills necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate technology for teaching and learning.
This course is now concluded. The modules will remain open for your reference through August 2020 as the content is moved to the new Canyons U course in Canvas.
Home Learning Requirement: The skills learned in this course will be assumed background knowledge for attending future professional development and will not be explicitly taught in future professional learning opportunities. Participants who completed this course and submitted the course conclusion reflection assignment by June 30, 2020 will receive a $175 stipend, and certified employees will earn 2 USBE credits. Certified employees who completed this course and submitted the course conclusion reflection assignment by July 31, 2020 will receive 2 USBE credits, but no stipend.

Course Requirements
To earn Level 1 Technology Certification, participants must:
- Complete Module 1.1
- Complete Module 3.1
- Complete Module 3.2
- Complete 11 additional modules (at least one module per ISTE standard)
- Complete all assignments in your chosen modules
- Reach mastery (at least 80%) for each completed module
- Observations have been waived for home learning participants.
Badges will be awarded on etc.canyonsdistrict.org for completed modules. Please be sure to log in to the etc website at least once so your name is activated in the system.
