Self- Awareness Video
Reflection:
Think about how you might feel if something happen out of supervise (like the pop quiz in the video).
Does your body give you signs that your feelings are changing?
- Fast heart beat
- Sweaty hands
- The feeling of shriving in size
If you are able to notice these changes you are building you self awareness! It is important to know how different feeling/ emotions effect us. It is also important to be aware of what your body needs to refocus!
Remember the acronym S.T.O.P
S= Stop. Physically, literally stop moving. Stop whatever your are doing. FREEZE in space. Take a step back from whatever your are doing, if you feel comfortable. Stop engaging with whatever it is your are doing.
T= Take a Breath (or many). In hale for five seconds, pause at the top of your breathe , then exhale for seven seconds. Focus only on breathing.
O= Observe. Pay attention to any unease you feel in your body. Scan from head to toe. Observe your heart rate or any areas of restlessness. What emotions are you feeling? Name the emotion. What is going on in the environment? Is it loud or quiet?
P= Proceed with purpose. What is it that you need right now? is it rest? Food? What is realistically manageable right now? What is going to serve you right now? Decide what is in your best interest and commit to it!
