"Is the giant tube worm, Riftia pachyptila, REALLY a producer?"
This is a question that has no easy 'correct' answer! I want you to make a claim about if YOU think Riftia pachyptila should be considered a producer or if it should be considered a consumer. Then, I want you to defend your claim with evidence!
To receive full credit for this activity, you must do the following:
1. clearly state your claim on if you think the giant tube worm, Riftia pachyptila, should be considered a producer or a consumer.
2. Explain, in your own words, what makes an organism a 'producer.'
3. Explain, in your own words, what makes an organism a 'consumer.'
4. Provide at least TWO pieces of evidence that back up your claim about Riftia Pachyptila!
Your claim cannot be "I think it is both like a producer and a consumer," even if that is what you honestly believe!!!!! PICK A SIDE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT
and as always, if you have questions, email me.
