Try out the following features on your Windows 10 computer. The video below the instructions can help you.

  • Screenshot:
    • Open the Start menu on your Windows 10 desktop.
    • Open the action center on your screen so you have both showing - one on each side of your screen.
    • Find the "PrtScr" key in the top row of your keyboard, and press it once.
    • This will take a picture of your entire screen and place it on your clipboard.
  • Paste an image in a Word document:
    • Open Microsoft Word.
    • Paste the screenshot of your desktop in the document (right click  --> paste or control+v).
    • Save this document to be used a little later in this module.

Do you have apps you use more often than others?  The new start menu can be customized to make these easily accessible to you. Watch the following video to learn how to add apps to your start menu. Try what you have learned!

  • Customize your start screen:
    • Pin at least 2 new apps to your start menu
    • Resize your start menu to make it larger or smaller
    • Resize at least one tile
    • Create and label a new categories of tiles
    • Move at least one tile into the new category
    • Adjust the colors of the start menu
  • Take a second screenshot:
    • With the start menu open, take a second screenshot of your customized menu by pressing "PrtScr".
    • Go to the Word document you started earlier and paste your new screenshot into it.

Submit the Word document you have created with the two screenshots as your first assignment in this module.
