Children are growing up in a world where much of their self-worth comes from how many likes they can get on Instagram or how many followers they have. Students need to see that their self-image and identity comes largely from how they present themselves off and online. People start believing the comments and amount of likes mean equal their value in life.
Self-Image
Our worth does not come from the numbers on social media. It does not matter what grade you teach, this is a message that should be engrained as early as possible. Students need to understand how they present themselves online and in all aspects of their lives.
