Filter & Refine Search Results

Google has some simple tools built in to help make finding the results you need easier. These include search modes (or filters) and Tools. Explore an example in the video and find further details below.

Search Filter: Type of Result

Above the results of your search, you'll see the option to limit the results to show:

All results
Images
Videos
News
Maps
Books
Flights
Finance

Google will usually show the four most applicable filters. Click "More" to see the rest.

Search Tools

Once you've limited your result type, further refine your results by clicking Tools [1] to see options relevant to the result type you selected [2].

For example, Tools for Images allows you to choose:

Size
Color
Type
Time
Usage rights
