Blended learning has become increasingly common in K-12 and higher education practice and the concept - that learners benefit from in-person learning experiences and asynchronous, digital learning activities - is now being applied to professional learning communities as well. Learning community members are finding that the combination of meeting IRL (in real life) to build community and connections enhances the effectiveness of the online discussions, sharing, and support the community offers.
