Hammurabi's Code: Was it Just?
Overall, be prepared to answer the question, "Was it Just?" Do you think Hammurabi's code was fair? Was it appropriate for the time period? Was it too harsh toward criminals? Did it provide justice to the victims of crimes? Keep these questions in mind while you read the following text and documents.
Guidelines
You will be reading a short background essay and looking at two primary source documents that will teach you more about Hammurabi's Code of Law. There will be optional audio and video instruction for each of the documents if you need help.
You will have texts and documents to refer to when answering multiple choice and short-answer questions.
