What is Geography?

• Definition:“The study of places and the relationships between people and their environments” (National Geographic)

Why does it matter in history?

• Geography influences people and what they do. People who live by a river will live differently then people who live in the desert. 

Let's start with the basics...

• There are seven large land forms on Earth, called continents.
  • Continents are broken up into countries

 

• There are five large bodies of water called oceans.
