- In medieval times, many nobles wanted everyone to know how important they were.
- Since most people could not read, heraldry was invented.
- A heraldry was a design or short saying.
- They designed a Coat of Arms, that included the heraldry.
- A Coat of Arms is a unique design painted on a shield.
- Each symbol on the coat of arms represents something that has an important meaning to that person or family.
- Each heraldry was unique and each part of the Coat of Arms had special meaning.
