When John White left the colony at Roanoke he promised to return to with supplies from England in about six months. However, when he arrived to England, there was a state of panic as the English were preparing for the Spanish to invade. The Spanish had assembled the largest navy in history up to that time. Queen Elizabeth forbid any English ships leaving for exploration, and required that all hands stay to defend their island. This is a fascinating book, written as a comic book about this time.
