Introduction to Language and Narratives

We communicate with each other using language. You use language when you introduce yourself to someone else. But, what makes up the English language? And, how do we use that language to share experiences with each other? This week you will begin to explore the answers to those questions.

This week's learning will include a welcome questionnaire, video instruction, activities on morphemes, and an opportunity to tell us an oral narrative about yourself.

Learning Intentions

This week I will learn about what morphemes are so I can break words into parts and build new words.
This week I will learn about elements of a narrative so I can tell a narrative about myself.

Success Criteria

I know I am successful when I can define what a morpheme is, list types of morphemes, and state why it is important to understand morphemes.
I know I am successful when I can define and use story elements to tell an oral narrative.
