Additional Materials
Following is a list of the resources found in your binder:
- Student Drill Sheets and Worksheets
- Each lab being used for keyboarding should have a class set of these in a binder or bound as a book. If you need more copies of the Student Drill Sheet books, ask your principal or Ed Tech specialist to either help you track down a set that has already been created or to help you make more copies.
- Some schools have laminated their drill sheets and worksheets for longer life and reuse.
- Some schools have made consumable copies of the worksheets so students can color them and keep them for review.
- Posters
- One blown-up set of posters per lab is recommended.
- Some teachers choose to have copies displayed in their own room as well as in the school creativity lab.
- Instructions for creating the posters are in the poster section of the teacher binder.
- Some teachers choose to place the posters under their document cameras during lessons rather than making large hard copies of the posters.
- Games and Activities
- These are helpful and make great follow-up or extension activities.
- Misc. Teaching Aids
- These can be helpful, but are not required.
- Schedule - This helps you get the whole picture (scope and sequence) of the program.
- Sample Memos -These can help you involve parents and encourage practice at home.
- Evaluation Record - This is great for the technology grade on report cards.
- Certificate - We have created our own race car certificate (in this course) that fits our District keyboarding theme in addition to the certificate in the Keyboard Chatter binder. Feel free to use either to celebrate student success.
- Word List - Literacy connection! Some schools include this list in the student drill books and add the list into Keyboarding for Kids as a teacher-created lesson.
- Name Plate - Hang the name plate over the computer monitor to use during student practice time. You can give feedback by marking the checklist on the name plate. We have included in this course our own car name plate that fits our District keyboarding theme.
