• I can listen and understand the process for how pumpkins grow.
• I can recognize the words for seeds, water, leaves, and soil when I hear them.
• I can say the word used for ‘cut’ when making a Jack-O-Lantern
• I can name the color of a leaf that is missing from the tree.

Engage 你做：

Materials: blank paper, marker or crayon, seeds, glue

Seed Collection & Recording: Have a parent help you look for different seeds (种子 zhongzi ） you may have in your house, such as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, or save the seeds from apples, oranges, or other fruit. Draw a picture of each food or plant the seed came from, and paste the seeds by it. You might want to create a picture with the seeds as well.  

Have a family member video you showing your picture as you say: 'In my house we have....pumpkin seeds, apple seeds, etc.' Share your video with a friend or other family member.

Materials: paper, markers, scissors

Leaf Game: Draw several leaves of different colors and cut them out. Play the 'Leaf Game' from the lesson, by having a family member take away  one or more colored leaves while you shut your eyes, and see if you can say which one is missing!
