How do Students Submit a Google Doc to an Assignment?

To Submit an Assignment via Google Docs

There are two parts to submitting a Google Docs assignment: 1) allow Canvas to access your Google Docs and 2) submit your assignment in Canvas.

 

First, allow Canvas to access your Google Docs account.  (Only one account can be used at a time.)

STEP 1. Click Settings in the top menu bar.

STEP 2. Click Google Docs.

STEP 3. Sign in to your Google account.

STEP 4. Grant Access for Canvas to sync with Google Docs.

STEP 5. The accounts are now linked.

Second, submit Google Doc in Canvas:

STEP 1. Navigate to the assignment and click Submit Assignment.

STEP 2. Click the Google Doc tab.  (It will take a moment for your files to load.)

STEP 3. Select the file from the list.  You may need to expand a folder to find the right file.

STEP 4. Add comments, if necessary.

STEP 5. Click Submit Assignment.
