How do I Import and Export content between courses?

If you already have a Canvas course created (from a prior year) and need to move that content into a new course, the following tutorial will help guide you through that process. There are a number of reasons you might want to import content from another course.  If none of the reasons below apply to you right now, you may skip this page!

  1. You have created content in one of your classes and want to import into another one of your courses. For example, you may have a World History class and a World History AP class and want to share content between both courses. OR You backed up your course from a previous year and want to import that course into your new courses. (Example 1)
  2. You have received a course export (like benchmark tests from the district) and need to import that export into your course. (Example 2)
