Presentation Tools
When used correctly, presentation tools can enhance explicit instruction, both in person and online. While PowerPoint is still one of the most popular presentation tools available, many newer tools have design, engagement, and student response capabilities that PowerPoint does not have. A key component to creating effective presentations is to first consider what your goal is. Once you know what you would like to communicate and how you would like your students to respond, you can choose the correct tool for the lesson.
Presentation Tool Options
There are many, many presentation tools out there. Many of these tools are free. Some are designed to help you with direct, whole, class instruction. Some are designed to help you create engaging instructional videos. Some help you create engaging infographics and images. In this module, we will focus primarily on presentation tools for direct instruction. You will have the opportunity to explore a few options and select one that you would like to focus on. Even though this module focuses on a just a few tools, the list below can help you explore many more options in the future:
