Media Recording Submissions

Below are details about the option "Media Recordings" for assignments. Image

 

Step 1: Navigate to the desired assignment & click "Submit Assignment."

Step 2: Select the "Media" tab.

Step 3: Click "Record/Upload Media."

Step 4: Select "Record Media" to record audio or video, or "Upload Media" to choose a preexisting audio or video file.

If choosing a preexisting audio or video file from your computer, select the type of file you'd like to upload. Choose your file from your computer and click "Open."

Step 5: Once you've selected or recorded your file, slick "Submit Assignment."

Advantages of media recording submissions:

  • Students can submit evidence of mastery in areas that don't lend themselves to written submissions (e.g., American Sign Language).
  • Recordings can be made on mobile devices and then uploaded to Canvas.

Disadvantage of media recording submissions:

  • Students must have audio and video input options on their device.
  • Students must leave Canvas to record on devices that are not Flash enabled.
