Introduction to iPad
In this module, participants will learn the basics of navigating and using an iPad in order to become more familiar with how the iPad can help educators meet the diverse needs of all students.
ISTE Standard: Leader
To meet this standard, educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning. Educators:
1a. Shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.
1b. Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content, and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.
1c. Model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning.
Teachers who understand how to use the iPad in education are Leaders because they are able to understand how iPad apps and accessibility features help them "advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content, and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students."
Learning Intentions
- I can explain the physical features of an iPad and the accessories that come with this device.
- I can create a free Apple ID account and use the App Store on my iPad.
- I can customize the settings and appearance of my device.
- I can add my CSD email to my iPad mail app and use it to send and receive emails.
- I can identify and download two educational apps for basic iPad use in the classroom.
