Module 20: Search Chrome

How to search the contents of the current page for text or links

You can find a specific word or phrase on a web page in your Chrome Browser.
  1. On your computer, open a web page in Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Find.
  3. Type your search term in the bar that appears in the top right.
  4. Press Enter to search the page. 
  5. Matches appear highlighted in yellow. You can see where all the matches are located on a web page using the yellow markers on the scroll-bar.

Tip: You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + f (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) or āŒ˜ + f (Mac) to quickly find a word or phrase.

Search words or images

You can find more info about a specific word, phrase, or image on a web page.

  1. On your computer, open a web page in Chrome.
  2. Highlight a word, phrase, or image.
  3. Right-click it on your computer. (Ctrl and click on some Macs)
  4. Click the option to search for it with your default search engine. For example, you might see something like "Search Google for 'emperor penguin'" or "Search Bing for this image."
