Module 6.1 - Publishing Content Pages for Student Viewing

Publishing Content Pages for Student Viewing

Content pages must be published in order for students to view them. Keeping pages unpublished is helpful when they are a work in progress or when you don't want students to access content until you are ready to use it, but otherwise always be sure to publish pages you want students to see.
Important Note: Even if a page is published, students will not be able to view it until they have access to it through your course schedule, a module, etc. Students cannot view "Pages" in their Sidebar Navigation when following CSD Canvas requirements.

There are three ways to publish a content page:

1. In "Pages"

Select "Pages," then "View All Pages." Here, as in "Modules," you have the option to publish and unpublish your pages.

2. When viewing the page

When viewing the page, a green "Published" button should appear next to "Edit" in the top right corner. Otherwise, you will need to click this button in order to publish the page for student viewing. When editing a new page, selecting "Save & Publish" will publish your page right from the start.

3. In "Modules" (To learn how to create a module, visit the "Modules" page in this module.)

To publish or unpublish a content page, simply click the could icon to the right of the content page (or assignment!)
