Making a Grant Stand Out
Making a Grant Stand Out
Project-Based Learning
Project-based learning makes for great grant projects because this style of teaching and learning is student centered and highly engaging. When applying for a grant, you may be tempted to focus only on the manipulatives or tools you want. Grant readers are much more interested in why you want these tools and how they will be used to benefit students and enhance learning experiences. For example, you can ask for a cart of iPads or Chromebooks, but it is not very likely you will get them unless you have an idea of what you want to do with the technology. And whatever you will do with these tools needs to be student centered and innovative. Unique student projects stand out and make whoever is giving the money take notice. They want to be sure that students will benefit from the money.
