What is a claim and how do I write one?

Review: A claim is a statement that outlines your argument. It is a statement that can be backed up by evidence. 

Argument + Three reasons = Claim Sentence

Example: Disneyland is the best because they have rides for everyone, lots of food options, and you can see your favorite characters all day. 

Argument (Disneyland is the best)

Reasons (1. Rides for everyone 2. lots of food options 3. you can see your favorite characters all day) 

=

Claim Sentence (Disneyland is the best because they have rides for everyone, lots of food options, and you can see your favorite characters all day.)
