Quarter 2 Week 2 Overview
Introduction to the Module Instruction
During Quarter 1 you got a brief introduction to Informative Writing. This week we are going to do a deeper study on all things informative especially the importance of citing sources.
Learning Intentions
This week I will learn about the importance of citing sources so I can write a well thought out informational paragraph.
My informational paragraph will cite evidence from the videos and text that I read.
Standards:
W.6.2a Introduce a topic; organize ideas, concepts, and information
W.6.2b Develop the topic with relevant facts, definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples .
W.6.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
W.6.6 Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills.
RI.6.1 Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
L.6.1 a,b,e Ensure that pronouns are in the proper case, use intensive pronouns (myself, ourselves), recognize variations from standard English in their own and others' writing and speaking and identify and use strategies to improve expression in conventional language

- View the two google slides presentations all about how to Cite sources.
- Complete the Color Coding Highlighting assignment with 80% accuracy
- Text Evidence Practice #1 with at least 80% accuracy
- Complete and score an 80% accuracy on the Cite Evidence Practice assignment
- Demonstrate at least an 80% accuracy on the informational writing final assessment
