Utah DLI French Online - 8th Grade

Dear Parents of Online and Parent-Guided DLI Students,

We appreciate your dedication to your child’s language learning and the patience you have demonstrated over these past few months as we address the diverse language learning needs of our Dual Language Immersion students in these challenging times.

As a Dual Language Immersion team, state and Canyons District leaders have teamed up to offer additional online DLI resources to support your student’s at-home learning. We know this year has posed challenges for our remote bilingual learners as they are unable to benefit from in-classroom conversations and interactions, reducing their exposure to their target language. So, to supplement the online lessons that are currently available, Canyons has secured new tools and resources for remote learners in grades 1-8.

Moving forward, the French team will continue to publish one Canvas course lesson per grade per week at the elementary level, as specified in the chart below, and one module per week at the secondary level. In addition, through a state-funded grant, Canyons has purchased software through which French DLI students grades 1-8 can access resources to supplement their online lessons.

●   In grades 7-8, student instruction will be supplemented through access to the Yabla software program. How to Login to Yabla French (Links to an external site.)

Students can access these resources by logging in to https://clever.com/in/canyons (Links to an external site.), signing in with their CSDdocs account and clicking on the Little Sponges, Rosetta Stone, or Yabla software icon.

We hope this software will help to better support your student’s language needs. Please do not hesitate to contact Canyons’ instructional experts with questions.
