When faced with a web page that contains a lot of text and a plethora of information, you can save time finding exactly what you're looking for by using a few simple keyboard shortcuts.

 

How to Find Text Within a Web Page

Typing Command+F on a Mac keyboard or Control+F on a Windows keyboard could be the biggest time-saving shortcut you'll ever learn. With it, you can "Find" - or jump to - sections of a website, document, or pdf containing a certain word or phrase. This "Find" shortcut also works in most applications, so you can use it in your favorite web browser as well as Microsoft Word, Apple's Pages, your note-taking app, et cetera. In the image below, notice the search box that pops up when the shortcut is typed. The box shows what word of phrase you have searched and how many times it can be found on the page. Clicking the arrows on this search box zoom you directly to the next instance of your word or phrase on the page.
